Note on the Battery Act

When selling batteries and rechargeable batteries and devices that contain batteries or rechargeable batteries, we must draw your attention to the following in accordance with § 18 of the Battery Act (BattG):

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. After use, you can return them either to your local collection point, to a retailer or directly to us (see imprint for address) for free disposal.

Old batteries can harm our environment and health and may contain pollutants or heavy metals. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can therefore be recycled.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries that contain pollutants are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can and the chemical name of the pollutant.

The Cd stands for cadmium, Hg for mercury and Pb for lead.
